It started on accident…

Bob Keppel: Small Business Author

In 2007 I published this manual on starting  a car detailing business, based on my experience opening a detail shop in 2003.  I was hoping for some local publicity, but the book “caught fire” worldwide, and I’ve sold almost a thousand copies.  The concept was well received because unlike other guides, I offered tangible marketing materials (website, Craigslist ad, flyers, etc.) that new business owners usually spend $100s for.

A new approach to business “startup” guides.

My courses contain:

  • Well-researched information.  My team spends a lot of time finding out all those “industry secrets” that you don’t find spending hours on Google.
  • Advice from real business owners.  What works and what doesn’t…from people who have done the “trial and error.”
  • Professionally-produced marketing materials.  Appearances are CRITICAL to new business owners:  you want to look credible, and we’re giving you that “polished” look for just $29 here.
  • A simple Internet marketing plan.  In 2011, you have to be found on Google.  And you have to have good reviews.  This is my specialty, and my courses have the most current information on ‘net marketing…guaranteed.

3 Notes about writing “How to Start a Home Cleaning Business.”

  1. Home cleaners make more than I thought.  As they add staff, the income scales up quickly.  Some home cleaners have more than 15 maids that they bill @ $39 an hour:  $585 in sales per hour.
  2. It’s a workout.  You might not get tired cleaning your own home.  But 2/3 homes a day, 5 days a week adds up.  Prepare to get in shape.
  3. David Losh knows his stuff.  David owns Seattle House Cleaning, and was one of the more open interviews I’ve conducted.  He had some interesting things to say about how–20 years after starting his cleaning business–how he would start again today.  It’s all in the course.
